Kelsey takes a holistic, biopsychosocial approach to working with her clients, as what brings us to therapy exists within all aspects of our lives. She applies theoretical approaches such as client-centered, attachment-based, emotionally focused therapy (EFT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and solution-focused therapies, and components of mindfulness.
After transitioning from a previous background in nutrition, Kelsey completed a Master of Counselling Psychology, and a year-long focused practicum in Couples Counselling and Relationship Counselling. She has specialized training in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) - which is a gold standard of treatment when it comes to working with couples and focuses on decreasing relationship distress and creating strong bonds.
She works with both couples and individuals, as they navigate distress in their lives and relationships such as transitions, infidelity, pregnancy, and parenting. You will be met with warmth, comfort, and understanding in your sessions with Kelsey.
Within the couples therapy, she will focus on deeply understanding you and your partner, in order to create a safe space for you to explore your relationship (with yourself or them) and create resilience.
Kelsey may be reached at kelsey@calmplace.ca and the fee for a 50-minute session is $140 +tax.
