Stephanie Keezer, is currently completing ADHD assessments for adults only. Stephanie has experience working with adults with ADHD to garner understanding of their unique profile including their individual strengths. Through an ADHD assessment an individual can learn strategies to address their needs and to assist them to live their life in a way that feels both positive and neuro-affirming.
ADHD assessment can be a tool for individuals to gain a better understanding of their own life including strengths they have as well as challenges they face. A diagnosis can sometimes provide not only additional understanding of oneself but also allow access to strategies and accommodations that bolster support.
Stephanie uses assessment tools and practices that are research based and assessment regimen chosen based on the individual needs of the client.
If you are considering if an ADHD assessment is right for you we encourage you to book an ‘Initial in person ADHD assessment appointment’ using our website. At this session Stephanie will answer any questions you may have about the process and do some preliminary screening to ensure it is appropriate to pursue a full assessment. The cost of this assessment will be applied to your total assessment fee should you choose to continue with the process.
After meeting you Stephanie will determine an assessment format that is appropriate for your individual needs. Typically the ADHD assessment will include the following components:
Client Interview:
At this in-person session you will meet with Stephanie at our clinic. The client interview is one of the most important parts of an ADHD assessment. At this appointment Stephanie will complete a full intake history with you where you will discuss your attention related concerns over your life span. We may also discuss your family history, other significant events in your life, medical information, previous assessment, or more. This rich information will help Stephanie to understand your unique history, your presenting concerns, and gain an understanding of the areas in your life where you identify support is needed. Once this information is obtained Stephanie will use it to inform the remainder of the treatment assessment format.
Additional Data Collection/Testing:
As informed by the information gathered at the client interview, Stephanie will develop the framework for the remainder of the assessment process. This will likely include providing you with evidence based ADHD screener items. These may be completed in person or electronically and may be completed by you, and possibly also by one or two individuals who know you well if appropriate.
Stephanie may ask you to provide information such as school records/report cards or previously completed assessments. This additional information will help to provide historical context to your potential challenges over your life span.
Observations/Diagnosis:
When the data collection portion of the assessment process is completed, Stephanie will review all information collected and apply findings to a clinical diagnostic criteria. Once this stage is completed Stephanie will schedule a final appointment with you to go over results. This appointment will include standardized measure results, clinical impressions and insights into your profile. It is at this time you will be made aware of a diagnosis if present. Stephanie will take time to explain the nature of the diagnosis, answer questions, and provide recommendations or referrals as appropriate for future treatment or follow up.
After the final session you will be provided with a hard copy as well as a digital copy of an assessment report summarizing the assessment data and conclusion. If a diagnosis is made you will be provided a letter of diagnosis to share with relevant parties as you may deem appropriate (medical professionals, workplace, learning institutions, etc.)
The cost of A full ADHD assessment ranges from $1800 -$2100 which is scaled depending on the complexity of the diagnosis and hours required to complete the assessment in its entirety. If you have insurance benefits the assessment may be covered as part of your Psychology benefit. Based on individual circumstances the cost for the assessment can be billed in full or broken into three smaller portions billed up front during various components of the assessment (intake/screeners/summary). We aim to have this service as accessible as possible for individuals. Please feel encouraged to discuss options for a billing schedule with Stephanie.
