Riley Hunt is a registered social worker, who received his Bachelor of Social Work locally from
Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN). Riley is currently attending Dalhousie
University where he is nearing the completion of his Master of Social Work and will be
completing his field placement with Nicole Furey at The Calm Place.
Riley holds over nine years of experience in the social services sector – the last five of which
have been spent working with at-risk youth. Currently, Riley serves as the Team Lead of the John
Howard Society’s New Day Program where he is responsible for providing holistic case
management services to individuals involved with the criminal justice system.
Riley has interests in the areas of intergenerational trauma, adverse childhood experience,
adolescent mental health, and men’s mental health. He further has a passion for improving
emotional regulation and self-esteem through collaboration and empowerment. Riley strives to
create a space for clients which feels welcoming, safe, and flexible.
Riley is accepting clients aged 16+ for individual counselling. Sessions are offered at a reduced
rate of $50 per 50 minute session and may be covered by insurance. Email riley@calmplace.ca to schedule a session.
