Wendy Maidment is a registered social worker who obtained a Bachelor of Social Work in 2015 and a Master of Social Work in 2024 from Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN).
During her BSW, Wendy completed clinical placements with Janeway Outpatient Psychiatry and the Bridges Program at Eastern Health and Ruah Counselling Centre, a non-profit community counselling agency, during her MSW.
Wendy began her social work career as a social worker with the Department of Children, Seniors, and Social Development (CSSD), where she spent several years working with children,
youth, and their families, providing services and support through the Protective Intervention, In-Care, Adoptions, and Youth Services programs. Wendy then worked with the Association for
New Canadians (ANC) as a Social Work Coordinator and Manager of Settlement Services, where she provided individual and group support to newcomers and completed training in immigrant and refugee mental health.
Wendy has completed training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy for traumatic processing and recently completed Levels 1 and 2 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. As a therapist, Wendy’s main priority is building strong therapeutic relationships with clients and selecting therapy options based on their needs. Wendy has a special interest in trauma, attachment, relationships, grief and loss and anxiety.
Wendy is currently accepting referrals for individual and couples counselling.
