A psychoeducational assessment is a comprehensive evaluation designed to better understand how a child or individual learns. It provides insight into cognitive abilities, academic skills, and any factors that may be impacting learning, focus, or overall performance.
If school, work, organization, or focus has always felt more difficult than it seems for others — despite genuine effort — there may be an underlying reason.

1. Initial Parent or Client Consultation
The process begins with a consultation with parents/guardians (or the adult client). During this meeting, you’ll be invited to share relevant background information, including school report cards, previous assessments, and any concerns from teachers or other professionals.
The clinician will gather a detailed developmental, academic, and family history, and complete a brief screening to determine whether a full psychoeducational assessment is appropriate.

The assessment may explore areas such as:

Following the assessment, the clinician carefully analyzes the results and prepares a detailed report. This report includes:

4. Feedback Session
A feedback session is then scheduled to review the results together. During this meeting, the clinician will walk you through the findings in a clear and supportive way, answer your questions, and help you understand next steps and recommendations.
